Wadden island of Terschelling

Dunes Terschelling

Terschelling is one of the 5 inhabited Dutch Wadden islands with around 5,000 people living there permanently. 80 percent of Terschelling is nature, with some areas that are prohibited for visitors during breeding season.

The Wadden Sea is part of the Unesco World Heritage List. It’s a coastal wetland area stretching from the north of the Netherlands via Germany all the way up to Denmark. The Wadden Sea is one of the last remaining large-scale, intertidal ecosystems in the world. The area hosts around 2,300 species of flora and fauna, including seals.

Enjoy pictures of our stay on Wadden island Terschelling, in February. Strong winds and freezing temperatures, but still a feast for the photographer!
